Super New Year's Eve menu 2020 by delivery 🤩 It worked out great and was very tasty!

Friendly service and acceptable prices for traditional cuisine make this restaurant almost an insider tip, especially since there is not as much bustle here as down in the city. Relaxed, at rustic garden tables, in the open air, everything tastes twice as good. Recommendation for visitors and tourists. Different hospitality rules apply in November 2020. The host will certainly leave corresponding information here in Google.

Cute, cozy place. Great, friendly service. I had the biergoulasch and it was very generous, tasty and filling.

Decent good Middle-class food with a rustic flair. The service is good, the food delicious, the prices perfectly fine. Recommended especially in the Corona time as there are no tourists.

The restaurant has a very nice charm. Very old and haunted. However, the implementation of the hygiene regulations is very questionable. A sign tells you to wait in front of the beer garden until the waitress leads you to a table, but the waitress only comes by every quarter of an hour and then wonders how the guests dare to look for a seat on their own in the freezing cold. We also saw a customer reprimanded for not wearing a mask (in my opinion absolutely right!) But another couple who also came to the table without a mask without comment. We didn't understand the difference. The food was basically very tasty, but the parsnip soup was delivered to me cold. The service wasn't really very customer-oriented either. In addition, in the end she was not able to issue a hospitality receipt.

Clear and cozy beer garden. Reception at the entrance by service employees and placement at the table. Fast and very humorous service employee. Food was well presented, very good in taste and price. We felt comfortable and will definitely be back.

Came by for lunch and the food exceeded my expectations by a lot. I got the gefülltes Spießbraten and it was absolutely delicious, seasoned wonderfully. The prices were very fair, especially for the size of the portions. You get a decent view of the castle sitting outside as well. Waiters were a bit less attentive than I would have liked, though.

Delicious Schäufele, but not cheap. Fast and friendly service and a very nice location. The beer garden in particular is very cozy.

The waitresses were all very nice The food was good. You can eat inside as well as outside. The ambience is very good with both options. (You have a nice view of the castle) You can pay in cash and by card. 4/5 stars as there is only one vegetarian dish on the menu. Parking can be difficult to find.

Lured here by the good reviews and presence on the Lonely Planet, we came to this restaurant for dinner. The place isn't pretty, it just has lots of benches in a dimly lit garden. Inattentive service, dishes served without even a napkin. Kitchen also disappointing, we got a goulash which wasn't a goulash at all. More than anything else it was a meat in broth not even who knows how good. Among other things, it was served with a spoon when the pieces of meat were quite large and therefore it was difficult to break them. Maybe at lunch it will have another effect but I was not happy at all. Disappointing at best.

Super delicious schnitzel and Schäufele with a perfect rind. The loo was really delicious. Great conditions. Small but good selection of Franconian cuisine. Very quaint and beautiful location with a view of the castle. Nice waitresses. As a Franconian, I didn't know Schäufele with sauerkraut.

Tasty, tasty, tasty, tasty. The chef is extremely good at his craft. Seldom eaten so enthusiastically. Will definitely come again. The spaetzle is simply delicious, the salad is crisp and fresh with a delicious dressing, the meat is tender and juicy, the chocolate cake is heavenly. The prices weren't the cheapest, but the food was definitely worth it. I like 10 stars. ❤️👍

Very rustic beer garden, which is not yet as touristy as the bars on the other side of the castle. Really great location and great ambience. Very good food (Schäufele, Nämbercher Bratwurst, Obatzer, etc.). Good service and prices; really recommendable!

The food is absolutely great, large portions, prices completely within reasonable limits. The service is remarkably attentive and friendly. A "real" Franconian is rather disappointed with the beer selection, hence a star deduction. There is still something going on! The ambience and location is of course fantastic, beautiful beer garden.

Pleasant atmosphere! Good Franconian cuisine! Four of us were on site and had reserved in advance! The beer garden was very well attended, everything was there from young to young at heart ..

The place has potential due to it's scenic view but it seems like they've given up? There's trash, weeds, and such. Too bad!

I can only recommend! We had the scoop with dumplings, sauerkraut and sauce. The shovel was absolutely delicious, the crust perfectly crisp and the meat tender. Exactly how it should be. You feel right at home there, because the waitress was super nice too. A big compliment to the kitchen! You are a great team and we had a nice evening. A must for everyone who wants to eat delicious. Thank you so much!

The best!

This is for me the best restaurant on Nürnberg I've every been into. Personally I recommend pan schnitzel and gulasch soup. The Staff is really helpfull and friendly. Od you are on Nürnberg you HAVE TO go there!

Beautiful traditional food

Right out of the movies!! Loved it. So much history.

One of the coziest place I have been, the building is of 15th century,and it's just directly below the Imperial castle. As it was Christmas period,the restaurant was decorated with figures of baked gingerbread and biscuits. Here we tried traditional sausages and apple strudel. The staff were very helpful,kind and English speaking.

Awesome looking place but service as welcoming as a prison door... you may reject people for being fully booked but at least you can do that politely... No smile, no suggestion to call or better timing. 6 people’s first impression of your city’s hospitality went negative because of your staff attitude.

Rude waiters. No table organization. We were obliged to leave without eating and we were lucky finding nearby a really better place.

The place is beautiful as well the food and staff are extremely kind. I would recommend their homebrew schnapps as it was brewed with love and tastes magnificent!

Great service with lovely staff. Good food as well!

I spent the whole evening there. After living in the States for 10 years, I had to ask them if I should wait to be seated. I found a seat myself and waited 20 minutes before they gave me the menu. It was very busy. People were singing songs with guitars. Firstly a group of guys sang many songs, some of which were in English. Then a group of ladies sang for a while. It was relaxing. I ordered everything that has “witch” in the menu. The liquor was very strong. I got a hiccup right after I took a sip. I took off one star only because the sausages were too salty for me. The whole meal cost me €22 only. The owner was nice and friendly.

Beautiful place but the services were awful, thy pretend not see you. Asked the beer at the balcony was easy..ah..take care where you seat, they close a lot of areas and complain if you seat

Terrible service. Waited about 20 minutes to be served. It wasnt full. They brought us the menu, but never came back to take our order. First time to try a biergarten...very disappointed. Will have to look for one with better service.

The place looks amazing from the outside, cute and authentic with a nice location next to the old city walls. But the service was non existent and the waitress was extremely rude. Wanted to pay by credit card but according to the waitress that wasn’t possible, since she already made the bill for cash (without asking us how we wanted to pay). She had to make a huge scene first before accepting the credit card and letting us pay. Can’t recommend the place.

Super cute patio that we were excited to try out. We were seated and told someone would be with us. We waited over 15 minutes, but never had anyone come to take our order, so we got up and left ☹️.
